Terms of Service

1. About these terms

These terms apply when you book or attend a session with Before You Build ("we", "us"). By booking, you agree to them. If you have any questions before booking, email hello@beforeyoubuild.co.uk.

2. Our service

We provide a full-scale, physical walkthrough of your proposed home layout in our studio. A standard session includes up to 3 hours of studio time, a review of your floor plans, layout preparation, guided walkthroughs, practical recommendations and a written summary. Full inclusions are listed on our pricing page.

3. Bookings and pricing

• The standard session price is £849 + VAT.
• A booking is confirmed once we have agreed a date and received payment (or any agreed deposit).
• Returning customers receive 20% off a second visit, where applicable.
• All prices are in GBP and inclusive of preparation time as described on the pricing page.

4. Rescheduling and cancellations

• You can reschedule free of charge with at least 7 days' notice.
• Cancellations made more than 14 days before the session receive a full refund.
• Cancellations within 14 days are non-refundable, as significant preparation has begun.
• If we have to reschedule, we will offer a new date or a full refund.

5. Your responsibilities

You agree to:

• Provide accurate floor plans and project information at least 5 working days before the session.
• Arrive on time and behave respectfully towards staff and any other guests.
• Only bring guests (such as your architect or builder) that have been agreed in advance.

6. Nature of our advice

Our recommendations are practical, experience-led suggestions to help you stress-test your layout before construction. We are not architects, structural engineers or building control consultants, and our guidance does not replace professional design, planning or building regulations advice. Final decisions remain yours.

7. Intellectual property

You retain ownership of your plans and project material. We retain ownership of our session methods, templates and any written summaries we produce, which are licensed to you for personal use on your project.

8. Liability

We will deliver the session with reasonable care and skill. To the extent permitted by law, our total liability arising out of or in connection with a session is limited to the amount you paid for that session. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death, personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud.

9. Privacy

We process your personal data in line with our Privacy Policy.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
